North Dakota is one of the top wheat producing states in the United States. Wheat thrives in our long days and cool nights. Planting in early April allows the plants to grow and mature prior to the summer heat. The crop is monitored very closely for weeds, disease, and insects. The hot, dry conditions of August are perfect for the harvest process and provide for superior wheat quality. Following harvest, the wheat is placed in on-farm storage separated by variety, production location, and quality. Aeration to cool the crop provides ideal conditions for storage until delivery.
